Steroid Injection

I just received an in-office steroid injection, through my neck, for management of my subglottic stenosis. Kenalog was the steroid that my ENT used.

Steroid injections can break up the scar tissue, as well as reduce inflammation for individuals with subglottic stenosis. I really hope that receiving this injection will help me to delay another throat dilatation surgery.

The procedure was somewhat uncomfortable, but not as bad as I thought it might be. I used guided imagery to transport myself to a pleasant place.

I scheduled a follow-up appointment for 4 months from now. Here’s to better breathing!
